Irrigation engineering
Irrigation; irrigation may be defined as the process of supplying water by artificial methods to field for cultivation of crops
Irrigation engineer includes:
1. Tapping of water
2. Storing of water
3.Conveying water effectively the fields
4.Using the water economically
NECESSITY FOR IRRIGATION ;;
1.When the seasonal rainfall is in adequate to cultivate the crops
EX: Rayalaseema region
2.When the rainfall is evenly distributed
EX;Southern part of Rajasthan
3.When the rainfall minimum the area is exposed to drought conditions in such areas Irrigation makes its possible to cultivate lands
EX:Rajasthan desert
4.Some crops like sugar cane needs continuous supply of water for long time which cannot provide therefore irrigation is needed
